Training

Mission1618 is a Church Planting Network – a collection of like-minded church planters, pastors, business professionals, churches and others – committed to training and supporting church planters and helping churches plant healthy, God-glorifying, reproducing churches. We aim to do collectively what each cannot do alone. As a church planting network, we wish to see our city, state, region, country and world redeemed with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to training leaders.  Are you interested in church planting, but desired to get trained?  We offer a Church Planting Residency, which is aligned with our church based training program, the Leadership Development Institute (LDI).  It is geared to train leaders in three key areas:

  • Biblical Thinking,
  • Christ-like Character
  • Ministry Skills

If you desire to plant a church, we would love to be a resource for you!

No system is perfect, but to get a feel for what the process would look like, Mission1618 has divided the church planting process into 7 basic stages:

  1. Pre-Assessment
  2. Assessment
  3. Plan
  4. Implementation
  5. Accountability
  6. Launch
  7. Post-Launch

Read about our Church Planting Process to learn more about what each stage entails, as well as gather some helpful resources!

This church planting network is a ministry of Hope Community Church and its elders, and is currently under the leadership of Pastor Steve Treichler and Jon Neal. We meet monthly to learn, encourage, achieve and dream together. In addition, we host seminars and conferences as needed to help do whatever it takes to see God’s kingdom expand with the formation of new churches.

Church Planting Residency

We feel Scripture calls us to go into areas where the gospel is not proclaimed, share the good news of Jesus with people in a reverent and relevant way, gather those who God calls to Himself for mutual growth and encouragement, build them up to be imitators and disciples of Christ, raise up godly leaders to be under shepherds of that flock, and then send out others to repeat this process in other areas.  We call this church planting.

For those of you who are processing through if church planting is something you’d like to be a part of, we’d love to be a resource for you.  As a first step, we would highly encourage you to walk through some of the Pre-Assessment information we have on our website.

For those of you who are ready to take that next step, but are need of additional training, we offer a full-time church planting internship and residency program.  Broadly speaking, this is a 1-3 year residency program that works in partnership with our Leadership Development Institute.  Through the residency program we’ll assess you in areas such as your biblical thinking and understand, Christ-like character, and practical ministry skills.  From there, we will develop an ILP (Individualized Learning Plan) to fit your specific needs, and walk through this ILP with you throughout your residency.

If you’re interested in hearing more about our residency program, we’d love to talk more with you!  Contact Us with any questions you may have.
